Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs), also referred to as Chalicists, are members of the parish who assist the priest in administering the bread and wine at the altar rail during communion. Some LEMs may bring the bread and wine to those who are home-bound or hospitalized. Our Chalicists also lead the Prayers of the People, a reading from the Old Testament of the Bible, and a Psalm reading. Serving as a Chalicist can lead to a heightened awareness of the power of prayer and a deeper appreciation of Holy Communion.
If you are interested in serving as a Lay Eucharistic Minister, please contact the parish administrator or call 301-865-3270.
